Ingredients
-1 2/3 cups flour
-2 teaspoons cacao powder
-1 cup sugar
-1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 1/2 sticks of butter, softened
-2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
-2/3 cup of buttermilk
-3 eggs
-a few drops of red food coloring

Frosting

-1 stick of butter
-8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
-Pinch of salt
-4 cups of powder sugar

Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add the butter, cut into small pieces, to the dry mixture. Mix to combine, it will not be smooth,
4. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and red food coloring until well combined.
5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until the batter is well combined.
6. Scoop the batter into the cupcake pan.
7. Bake for 15-18 minutes.

Frosting:
1. In a mixing bowl, mix the butter and cream cheese until well combined.
2. Add the vanilla, and salt and mix.
3. Slowly add the powdered sugar to the mixture.

Once the cupcakes have cooled for 30 minutes to one hour, frost each cupcake. Use a pipe or a knife to frost each cupcake.
