Chicken wings have become a favorite meal, appetizer, or snack. They’re great for any occasion. Thes crunchy lime ginger wings have a little heat and are a little sweet. You can use drums or flats for this recipe (or both). When you want more meat, drums are the way to go.

If your wings do not come ready to fry, you can separate them really easily. If you put the chicken wing on your cutting board, cut between the drum and wing portion, across the ridge. Next, remove the tips. These aren’t worth deep frying but you can keep them frozen for stock.

Tangy Lime Ginger Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • frying oil
  • 1 lime (sliced)
  • dipping sauce (cilantro or chili-lime are both great!)

Instructions 

  • Pat your chicken wings dry using paper towels.
  • Toss them with the seasoned flour mix, making sure they’re coated evenly. Note: reserve some of the spice blend for sprinkling when they come out of the fryer.
  • Deep fry at 375 Degrees F for about 15 minutes. They should be golden brown with an internal temperature of 165 Degrees F.
  • Serve with slices of lime and the sauce of your choosing.
