1 2/3cupsflour
2teaspoonscacao powder
1cupsugar
1/4teaspoonbaking soda
1teaspoonbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
1 1/2sticksbuttersoftened
2tablespoonsvanilla extract
2/3cupsbuttermilk
3eggs
a few drops of red food coloring
Frosting
1stickbuttersoftened
8ouncescream cheesesoftened
1teaspoonvanilla extract
pinch of salt
4cupspowdered sugar
Instructions
Cupcakes
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the butter, cut into small pieces, to the dry mixture. Mix to combine, it will not be smooth,
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and red food coloring until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until the batter is well combined.
Scoop the batter into the cupcake pan.
Bake for 15-18 minutes.
Frosting
In a mixing bowl, mix the butter and cream cheese until well combined.
Add the vanilla, and salt and mix.
Slowly add the powdered sugar to the mixture.
Notes
Once the cupcakes have cooled for 30 minutes to one hour, frost each cupcake. Use a pipe or a knife to frost each cupcake.
